Autism Spectrum Condition and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. Hence I am DBS checked, hold required certificates and attend mandatory training annually. (incl. Safeguarding, Mental Capacity, Prevent, and Maybo for conflict management/ positive physical intervention)My professional engagement in education focusses on – but is not limited to – Assistive Technologies. I have supported OT service and users of Speech & Language Therapy on a variety of AAC platforms using diverse access methods incl. switches, bluetooth and eye-tracking interfaces. Technologies developed by Smartbox, Tobiidynavox and PECS to name but a few. I can apply my expertise on AV media, web DTP design. I act as administrator/ technologist on E-Learning, EFL (evidence-based practice and report/documentation) platforms.My growing practical expertise and studies for Continued Professional Development allow me to create contemporary designs and to support innovative bespoke solutions for CYP and adults. This is informed by relations I maintain with technology partners, and exchange with other practitioners in the field, conferences and fora. Implementations of technology (broadly or 1-to-1) have enabled participation and enriched the curriculum and learning experience for many. My interventions, e.g. on communication aids VOCAs have made positive changes in CYPs lives directly and facilitated progress towards measurable learning goals.As consultant/curriculum advisor I support Senior Leadership decisions about tech-implementation across colleges and handle budgets.
