Center for Behavioral Health and Youth Justice, Division of Child and Adolescent PsychiatryContributing to the coordination of e-Connect, a large multi-site study examining the effectiveness of a systems-level intervention to identify suicide behavior in youth on probation and link them to treatment in 10 counties in New York State.

Led a project that used interview data to understand juvenile plea decision making in New York City. I presented this research at the 2020 American Psychology- Law Society Conference. My other roles in this position include assisting in survey development and participant recruitment for ongoing projects in the lab.

A 16 hour per week clinical assessment and treatment practicum at a maximum security forensic psychiatric hospital. Under the supervision of multiple psychologists, I conducted outpatient competency to stand trial assessments in jails across the state. Additionally, I co-led the inpatient Legal Competency Restoration Program at the center.

In this role I collected observational data during arraignments in Manhattan Criminal Court. I assisted in the development of unique research tools for data collection. I also transcribed, entered, and cleaned court observation data using excel and SPSS.

Conducted data entry and analysis of re-entry programming services. Developed program resource guides for the individuals in custody. Observed various programs inside the facilities on Rikers Island, such as counseling sessions and ACS child-parent visits.

Teaching Assistant for undergraduate courses (Introduction to Psychology and Abnormal Psychology)

Attended and assisted students at weekly lab meetings for Introduction to Psychology. Helped the professor with set up, clean up, and design of weekly labs. Provided written feedback on student writing and score student assignments. Held weekly office hours to assist the students.

Reviewed psychiatric, psychological, educational, social and family assessments to obtain descriptive and diagnostic information on emotionally disturbed adolescent males. Entered and analyzed data using SPSS. Graphed, charted, and presented data on psychotropic medications and behaviors to professional mental health staff. Interacted with social service entities, such as DFYS, NJCBH, probation, and detention officers.

Provided role modeling, recreational, and life skills development to at-risk children and youth in the community or daycare settings. Provided in-home respite care for children with various mental illnesses throughout the Lehigh Valley area.
