Brown Dwarf New York City Researcher
CurrentI worked independently and asynchronously using GitHub workflow and Slack communications.I also contributed to weekly group meetings with BDNYC.Work on SIMPLE Archive: simple-bd-archive.org▪ Implemented test-driven development, creating new tables with the archive and functions for SIMPLE-db complete with proper documentation (using SQL, GitHub, AstroPy, PyCharm, and Pytest).▪ Ingested data into new features of the archive, creating accessible functions for future use of developers and users.Research work▪ Collaborated with team members to assist in data visualization (MatPlotLib).▪ Developed (Python) software to robustly quantify the shape and size of spectral absorption lines using a method that is efficient for the user as well as reliable across a range of spectral resolutions, signal-to-noise ratios, and varying precision of wavelength calibration. This work is available on GitHub.
