I am an artist, an educator, and a leader. I have always aspired to be someone that others can count on. Being a teacher seemed like a career that just made sense. I have not always been on the route of education. After receiving my BA in Studio Art and Minoring in Education, I took some time to build my skills in managing people, costs, and social media for my family’s restaurants. In spring of 2020, I decided to go back and get my MA in Elementary Education. In the past year, I have been a student intern for the LindenTeach program at Lindenwood University. I have worked at Wright City West Elementary for a little over a year now. Spring 2021 I was a teacher’s aid in a half virtual and half seated classroom in third grade. In the fall, I was a building substitute and had the opportunity to work in a variety of classrooms & at different levels, K-5. I gained experience in a variety of different settings and classrooms. I want to teach because I want to make a difference- I want to make an impact. Because of this, I deliberately look to challenge myself. I want to make sure when I have a classroom of my own that I am a nurturing, innovative, and professional educator who takes on every variable head on and creates an environment where learning is contagious.
