A ten week outpatient orthopedic Physical Therapy clinical experience at OrthoRI in Wakefield, RI. Patient Population: post-operative orthopedics rehabilitation, athletes, geriatrics

- Engaging with the younger cohort of DPT students and encourage them to seek out help as needed within all academic curriculum within the first year DPT program- Utilizing an online portal to manage available hours, scheduled appointments, and documenting tutoring hours- Creating a safe space for students to seek out peer tutoring, ask questions, and enrich their learning and studying experience - Encouraging self-efficacy and initiative in their studying, have the students look at certain aspects of curriculum and learning to focus on and delve into what learning style would best suit their studying- Expressing expert knowledge within Anatomy and Physiology, Human Pathology, Acute Care, Professional Issues, Kinesiology, Neuroanatomy, Musculoskeletal Pathology, Motor Learning, Therapeutic Exercise, Foundations of Physical Therapy and Modalities, Evidence Based Practice 1-3, Standard Measures in PT, Cardiopulmonary PT.

- Assist all members with orientation to strength machines and cardiovascular equipment.- Cultivate a positive and welcoming environment for members throughout all fitness facilities.- Cooperate will other Wellness and Branch staff to ensure cleanliness by cleaning equipment, making sure that it is free of litter, stocking paper towels, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes.- Clean the fitness floor according to the COVID-19 sanitation standards and ensure that members are aware of the procedures and policies with the COVID-19 regulations.- Follow all protocols for emergency situations including evacuations and medical emergencies.- Performing all extra duties assigned by the Health & Wellness Director.- Using exceptional customer service to assist members to the appropriate staff, machines, and answer questions about the facility.

- Build strong rapport with members of the gym and clientele - Able to create one of a kind, completely personalized micro-, meso-, and macro-cycle workouts- Teach Clients proper techniques regarding exercises - Proper modifications based off of client needs: whether injury, skill level, age, or other circumstances- Inform clients on healthy lifestyle choices outside the gym in domains as activity level, nutrition, and more- Ability to provide basic first aid and CPR if necessary- Clean and maintain order within the gym spaces such as weight area, HIIT area, and studios- Enforce all gym safety and conduct policies when working with clients or on the gym floor

Assisting the Physical Therapist in daily tasks including: table set up and cleansing up to COVID-19 cleansing standards, assisting the patient in their exercising, assisting the patient in using proper exercise technique, gathering, organizing, and cleaning the exercise equipment for each patient. Gaining experience around a diverse group of patients with unique backgrounds and beliefs. Learning about mode of injury, methods of rehabilitation, and reasoning behind at-home exercise assignment.
