I am a highly organised, driven and dedicated student completing my Bachelor (Honours) of Engineering (Biomedical) at the University of Wollongong. I am in my final year of study and aim to complete a thesis investigating the use of bioplastics in 3D printed transtibial prosthetics. I am also working full-time as a Technician at Southern Prosthetics and Orthotics/ Ottobock. This role has provided me with the skills to create custom, technical prosthetics and orthotics. This has been an incredible opportunity to gain hands on experience and I am very excited to see this role develop in the future. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the different types of devices and how these devices can empower individuals to regain or maintain their mobility. I am passionate about the future of medical devices and the potential we possess with new technologies, research and development to improve the quality of life of individuals experiencing disabilities, injury and impairment. Previous member and executive of the BMED Society at the University of Wollongong.
