About Alexandra Friedman

I believe in the power of the arts to strengthen community and transform the world we live in. Over the past 10 years I have had the opportunity to witness first hand the impacts that access to the arts can have from facilitating music workshops with refugee youth, to running an integrated choir for autistic young adults and their neurotypical peers, to teaching violin in a low-income elementary school. With a background in social work and music, I am passionate about finding was to integrate the arts into social service organizations and community spaces. In my current role as the Director of Community Engagement and Education at Seattle Chamber Music Society, I have the privilege of working with over 30 community partners to present 40 free performances and educational events in Seattle to reach over 3,000 community members each year.
