As the Coordinator, Museum Summer Tours, I had the responsibility of leading a team of four tour guides throughout the summer months and during various events throughout the year. I assisted in training these tour guides on the various skills required of a pioneer village tour guide, on cash handling and front desk work, and on city policy as well as the museum's own unique emergency response procedure. Along with being responsible for the daily activities of the museum's summer tour guides, I held sole responsibility over the museum site during Saturdays and Sundays from June to September. I also had the responsibility of entertaining guests who had come to the museum to inquire into its wedding and birthday party facilities. I would take potential clients throughout the museum, focusing on locations that were used for weddings, various forms of photography, and birthday parties. As well as guiding potential clients throughout the museum, I was also in charge of supervising any weddings or photography that occurred at the museum, and ran various birthday programs on site.Another aspect of my job was taking part in the creation of performance appraisals, creating Standard Operating Procedures, ticket sales for the various museum events, and the editing of the Tour Guide Manual.
