I am responsible for leading all communications and public affairs needs of the Ohio Business Roundtable to extend the organization's influence among CapSquare and within Ohio's business community. Since starting with OBRT, I have doubled the social media audience through digital content creation, streamlined member communication for increased engagement, and developed physical copy publications for distribution to members and elected officials. I also serve as the spokesperson to the press as well as members of the Ohio General Assembly by giving testimony during legislative committee hearings on behalf of OBRT members.

With a focus in healthcare and public safety, I was responsible for meeting the lobbying needs of 11 government relations-based clients of the firm. Through developing both short and long term strategies, I advanced client initiatives through legislative and grassroots efforts in order to accomplish organizational goals. I also worked to coordinate Statehouse advocacy days, conferences, legislative briefings and other events to increase clients’ influence on Cap Square.

In addition to daily press correspondence, I worked to meet the needs of the Speaker of the House and the other 65 members of the majority caucus. I developed communication strategies for policy initiatives including the 40-page policy platform known as the Buckeye Pathway. I also managed the caucus’s social media presence, more than doubling the Facebook and Twitter audience within a year by utilizing infographics, videos and photos.

As Legislative Aide, I guided Representatives Scherer and Duffey's pending bills through the legislative process and coordinated all administrative items for their offices. I was also responsible for administrative oversight of both the House Ways and Means committee and the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR). Additionally, I maintained active social media accounts, drafted correspondence on behalf of the Representatives and coordinated outreach to constituents.

I was responsible for communication with clients, including preparing weekly legislative updates and summaries of Ohio House and Senate committee proceedings. Other duties included analyzing Political Action Committee contributions, drafting press releases for client associations and managing the firm’s website.

I ensured correspondence between Representative Wachtmann and his constituents was met through managing his calls, email inbox and scheduling of his calendar. Duties also included organizing committee members’ legislative packet for the House Health and Aging Committee and drafting committee minutes.

As an intern assigned to Member of Parliament Robert Sopuck, I prepared legislative research including a detailed analysis of the Canadian Fisheries Act and data interpretation on the economic and environmental impact of Canadian oil sands. I also produced press releases on the pending omnibus budget bill, and updated his Facebook page with necessary content.
