CU Boulder History Department/ Boulder Parks and RecreationConducting historical research on Boulder's park sites in light of social justice concerns has allowed me to both improve upon my research and writing skills while also pursuing a topic of great interest to me. The main focus of my working involves identifying individuals/organizations in the African American and LGBTQ+ Boulder community for potential park namesake recognition.

Interning in a foreign country gave me the invaluable experience of working in a completely different culture and environment. This exposure has helped me expand my world view and given me the skills necessary to collaborate with those who differ from myself.Given the structure of the internship, I was able to create my own projects by deciding what I think would be most valuable to the company.

Having an insider view of the legislative process and the daily operations of a congressional office, I worked under the leadership of a member of Congress helping with legislative, administrative and constituent related work. Expanding my understanding of how the United States federal government operates, I interacted with a broad range of government employees, advocates, and lead capital tour visitors. Having learned to ski before I can remember, it has brought me many challenges, much growth, and abundant joy. Practically raised on the mountain, skiing provided a shared bond with my father and fostered my love of the outdoors. Recognizing the value that skiing had brought to my life and reflecting on some of my fondest memories, it was inherent to want to inspire new skiers; to not only love skiing but enjoy the beauty of Mount Snow. As an instructor, teaching beginner skiers ages four to six, I provided instruction on foundational skills, safety, and proper ski etiquette. Working with groups of five to eight children simultaneously, I mastered the skills necessary to navigate the challenging moments that come with instructing children. ☑ Contributed to the development of more effective teaching methods and techniques☑ Participated in on-going safety and educational training ☑ Fostered an environment that drove high satisfaction and return visits

An internship program offered through Avon High School, ACHIEVE provides students the opportunity to apply their interests and academic skills to real-world work experience. Supported through the local business community, the program encourages career exploration as students begin post-graduation preparation. As an intern at the Legislative Judiciary Committee for the State of Connecticut, I was exposed to the purpose and value that this branch of government provides to the state.
