Laboratory instructor for Biol2050- Concepts in Biology II

As the hunt coordinator, I work with refuge staff to ensure that all permitted hunters receive all necessary information prior to controlled waterfowl and deer hunts on the refuge properties through email, as well as in person at hunt preview days. Additionally, I will maintain equipment and prepare areas prior to hunts by installing and brushing blinds and posting signage.

During my internship at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, I worked to expand my skill set as an ecologist in two areas: refuge management and education/outreach. In addition to completing research related to my masters thesis, I will assisted the Refuge Specialist in research, management and restoration projects, as well as working alongside the Park ranger to develop and execute education events for a wide range of public audiences.

I served as a Governor's Summer Intern in the Watershed Assessment and Planning Branch of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management's Office of Water Quality. This opportunity allowed me to gain hands-on experience sampling fish communities and learning how to manage and monitor water quality.

I worked at the Ball State Honors College front desk answering phones and emails, scheduling faculty appointments and assisting prospective students in learning about Ball State and its Honors Program.

I worked to maintain the well-being of cats and dogs who are boarding at the facility, in addition to maintaining cleanliness of the hospital. I have also received training in vaccinating, medicating, and restraining animals. Additionally, I have practice in running and reading fecal samples and various cytologies. I have also gained experience in client communication and satisfaction.

I assisted the watershed assessment and planning team with documentation of potential project sites and the proper regulations required. I worked to schedule a field season to document water pipe projects. I became familiar with GIS technologies, as well as Waters of The U.S. Reports and Red Flag Investigations. I gained hands-on experience delineating wetlands, identifying vegetation, and completing a soil matrix, in addition to practice reviewing consultant reports.

I worked with many species including but not limited to: Ring-tailed Lemurs, Guinea Baboons, Long-tailed Macaques, White-Handed Gibbons, Bornean Orangutans and Sumatran Orangutans. I assisted keepers in maintaining the cleanliness of exhibits and holding spaces, as well as preparing daily diets and medications. I also had the opportunity to observe many husbandry tasks, behavioral training, and medical procedures.

I managed the experience and satisfaction of multiple tables and parties. I practiced organization and time management, while providing guests with exemplary customer service. I worked with other waitstaff, hostesses, and kitchen staff to assist in providing a great dining experience.
