I was born and raised in Southampton County, Virginia and went to school from elementary to high school there. During my senior year of high school, I decided to attend Sweet Briar College, as it was only three hours away from home. During my time at Sweet Briar, I have held numerous leadership positions such as: secretary for two clubs and one committee, Resident Advisor for three years, as well as other minuscule positions like proctoring for the CLA Assessment (for two years). In my junior year at Sweet Briar, I took a travel course that went to London and Paris to study Nineteenth Century Art. It was the first time I had been out of the country and I absolutely fell in love!In addition, I worked as a Resident Advisor at Sweet Briar College. Throughout the three years of holding this position, I have learned skills such as communication, organizational skills (although, I would argue that I had that skill ever since I was a child), conflict resolution/mediation and trained in suicide prevention intervention, first aid/CPR, fire safety, and many more.My most important skill, personally, I would say is my knack for organizing. During my senior year, I organized archives from the Friends of Art organization at Sweet Briar College. Usually, I find that I tend to organize things without even realizing I am doing it! I also pride myself in direct communication and team leadership, but I do not mind working alone on some things.
