I am a recent graduate from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management. I have just over two years of "real world" experience under my belt and I have only begun to highlight my strengths and different interests regarding my career.At Texas Tech as a Freshman, we were required to take a "StengthsQuest" assessment. After years of personal development and self realization I have found my "signature themes" to be very true. My top themes are Analytical, Harmony, Restorative, Empathy and Consistency. I make a point to study before making decisions, designing plans or taking action. I am a very rational thinker. I study the mistakes that I have made in order to understand what needs to be done differently in future situations. My harmony side is a bold one. It is habit for me to look for area of agreement in most everything I do. I do not see much being gained from conflict and friction. I steer from confrontation and towards harmony.In middle school I was chosen to be a "peer mediator." There were only a few of us who made up this group of counseling preteens. I believe that my strength of empathy assisted me there. I've always been able to sense emotions of those around me which makes it easy to respond appropriately and at the right time with ALL kinds of people and situations.Consistency relates to balance being a huge factor of my happiness. I favor familiar, predictable, and standardized procedures for doing things. I value having control in my work. I believe that each person in this world owns specific qualities that allow for a puzzle-piece feel in the work place. Every business needs different positions, and different people fill those specific positions dependent on their strengths and likes. I'm really growing to enjoy the research behind the things that make people happy at work AND I'm enjoying the rollercoaster of applying my strengths to what can make a difference in this world.
