I am currently a Grant Writer at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), one of the world’s liveliest centers for making and enjoying today’s most evocative art. In my undergraduate degree, I completed an Individualized Major focused on textile arts, creative writing, film, and sculpture, with a Minor in writing. During that time I attended a summer study-abroad Film course in Iceland, and a Design course in Oaxaca, Mexico. My senior thesis was a community-centered textile art project bringing together survivors of intimate traumas and unravelling their stories – metaphorically and literally through cloth-based items carrying emotional memory– to represent the healing process. I received a Marjorie Benedict All-College Honors Scholarship, and a four-year Creative Achievement scholarship as an undergraduate, and graduated with high distinction. Following early completion of my degree, I had a semester-long internship at ProArts Gallery in Oakland, where I assisted in creating weekly newsletters, compiling a press list, and organizing community events. In 2020 I started an Americorps VISTA term at the Springfield Family Center. I assisted the Executive Director in all aspects of development, marketing and programmatic management. I extended my service for a second year to better understand the organization and community I was working with. I also used the time to explore professional development opportunities in non-profit management and development. I attained a Fundraising & Development Certificate from Common Good Vermont, and have taken workshops covering Finance/Budgeting, Fundraising, and Marketing. Afterwards, I took a role as Development Manager at Next Stage Arts Project, where I oversaw grants management, print and digital appeal production, sponsorship solicitation and management, donor cultivation, and database management. During my time at Next Stage I was awarded an Emerging Leader award by the Southern Vermont Economic Development Strategies (SeVEDS).In my free time, I’ve explored performing arts like dance, physical theater, and circus arts. I'm teach yoga, and have received my 200 hr teacher training certificate. I have continued to weave, printmake, write, and hike. I like to travel, read, go to museums and theater performances, and generally learn new things when I can.
