I started my career as a registered dietitian in inpatient clinical environments, caring for inmate patients in the Corrections unit of a state-run hospital, to high-complexity of care patients in a level I trauma hospital. During my tenure in clinical settings, I believed to my core that there had to be a better way for patients to get their first-order needs met and achieve better health outcomes.Ultimately, this drew me to the nonprofit space to have an impact first-hand on the social determinants of health (SDOH) landscape. In my role, I work directly with hundreds of Medicaid members experiencing housing instability, food insecurity, behavioral health issues, substance abuse disorders, and chronic conditions to identify and address their unmet health-related social needs and connect them to vital social services. As part of Medicaid Section 1115 in Massachusetts, our work contributes to interventions that improve patient outcomes, reduce hospital utilization, and generate cost savings for the healthcare system as a whole.I am passionate about leveraging my background in clinical care and patient-facing work to efforts that support strategic growth and innovation in healthcare environments.
