I oversaw the delivery of a variety of modalities such as spinal decompression, Level IV cold laser therapy, myofascial release, and rehab therapy at a health center utilizing a cause-based approach to diagnosis and treatment to improve patients’ functionality and wellbeing. After obtaining patient medical histories, I performed orthopedic examinations, review x-rays, and contributed to patient treatment plans. Additionally, I administered trigger point and ultrasound-guided joint injections using various forms of regenerative medicine to treat joint dysfunction and alleviate pain. Using a team approach, I modified our care plans as needed to better address health concerns based on re-examinations and progress toward health goals.

I cared for up to 60 patients daily at this addiction and mental health treatment center. I conducted admission assessments of patients seeking services for detoxification of drugs and alcohol in this facility which offered inpatient and residential levels of care. Additionally, I delivered nursing care and provided motivational support to patients suffering from acute and chronic behavioral health conditions that included bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, and anxiety, as well as eating disorders. Continuously monitored patients for symptoms of withdrawal, administered medications accordingly. Trained new hires in the roles and duties of detox nursing.I assisted patients with defining and achieving their treatment goals and advocated for patients prevent relapses and become familiar with community support by attending 90 12-step meetings in first 90 days of sobriety.

In this role, I specialized in the care of post-open heart surgery, post-cardiac catheterization, heart failure, and acute myocardial infarction patients at a 716-bed acute care hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center. As an RN on 4 Atrium Progressive Cardiac Care Unit, I monitored cardiac rhythms, interpreted lab values, and alerted the appropriate physicians of significant changes in patient condition. I also titrated critical IV drips, such as amiodarone, nitroglycerin, diltiazem, and heparin per unit protocols.I trained as a clinical coach, mentored new graduate-level and student nurses on telemetry clinical rotation, and received advanced training in the management of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) patients.
