Alex began a long-standing commitment to animal well-being as a veterinary technician in 2004. Since that time, she has worked in both large and small animal clinics while enjoying an amateur three-day eventing career. Alex completed her undergraduate degree in Classical Languages in 2012 and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 2017.During her clinical year at the University of Pennsylvania, Alex was a Glatfelter Scholarship Recipient and was awarded the Charles F. Reid Clinical Sports Medicine and Imaging Award, the Large Animal Surgery Prize, and the Outstanding Patient Care Award. She was honored to be chosen by her peers to deliver remarks at the 2017 PennVet White Coat Ceremony. Alex completed an additional year of training in large animal medicine as an intern at the University of Georgia in 2018.Following a move abroad, Alex worked as an Intern Veterinary Surgeon at Newmarket Equine Hospital expanding her knowledge of the horseracing industry before undertaking a role she helped to develop at NEH where she was responsible for the after-hours emergency caseload and ongoing inpatient care. Most recently, Alex has transitioned back to small animal first-opinion practice and is enjoying being able to connect with her local community by providing thoughtful, informed, and compassionate care.
