As part owner of Calcoup Knitwear Pty Ltd (Calcoup) and Caloup Knitwear (Fiji) Pte Ltd, I am involved in the day to day management of accounts, payroll, OHS, financial and business strategy, and the company's SMSF. The company recently completed its management buy-out as scheduled. My background as Associate Director in Westpac's Institutional Acquisition and Leverage Finance team helped us tremendously to understand how we could appropriately and successfully structure such an acquisition.I feel very humbled by being part of a company that gives back - particularly given my Psychology background. I am proud to say that Calcoup is associated with long standing and ethical trading partners, where during the COVID-19 crisis, our customers continued to support Calcoup via honoring their financial commitments and orders continue to come through. Having customers across various industries including essential services, school, corporate and work wear industries has assisted us in continuing to trade in this challenging environment. During COVID logistal lines remained open, and the Australian and New Zealand foreign support was duly noted - and continues to do so.Calcoup Knitwear (Fiji) Pte Ltd is extremely focused on the health and safety of our staff having sought top standard workplace policies in Fiji's Textile Industry. Our factory being an exemplar business for the Ministry of Health Fiji during COVID. With the assistance of vaccine donations from Australia and New Zealand, our staff where able to access vaccines in the factory. We have a zero tolerance for domestic violence holding the first workshop in Nadi together with the Fiji's Women Crisis Center. And we have committed to making Fiji's largest donation of ready made garments to the elderly in aged care homes and children in orphanages across Fiji. Calcoup Knitwear supports our Australian farmers by purchasing Australian merino wool and provides customers the option to have their garments made in Australia or Fiji. We also have extended business partners in Vietnam. Calcoup Knitwear is also a leading donator to the Starlight Children's foundation having raised over $155,000 from purchases of any of its William Shaw product range. I have a few degrees up my woolly sleeve including a M.Comm Finance; BSc. Psychology; Graduate Dip. of Applied Finance & Investment; Dip. Accounting - but I feel being a parent has taught me the biggest selfless lesson of all...
