Provides safe, consistent, and compassionate care to patients and families. Systematically collects, assess, and documents data utilizing electronic medical records (EMR). Documents accurate patient information for national registries including ACC/NCDR ICD and LAAO registries. Administers conscious sedation and continuously evaluates patient for therapeutic goals as well as potential adverse events or unexpected outcomes. Monitors cardiovascular medications including vasopressors, inotropes, and anticoagulants. Titrates medications based off hemodynamic parameters. Assists physician in performance of electrophysiology procedures. Ensures patient safety in the pre-, intra-, and post-procedure period. Utilizes applications including, but not limited to Citrix, Cerner, iSite, IntelliSpace, Xcelera, and Xper. Participates in quarterly hospital conference addressing quality improvement, core measures, and staff development.

Electrophysiology Outpatient Clinic:Collaborates with electrophysiology physician in management of outpatient clinic by preparing clinical documentation and contributing to development of treatment plan for new and established patients. Provides education and counselling to patients and family regarding electrophysiology studies, catheter ablation, pacemakers, defibrillators, implantable cardiac monitors, and antiarrhythmic medications. Delegates tasks and provides ongoing educational development to electrophysiology team. Collaborates with interdisciplinary staff including cardiologists, laboratory and surgical staff, vendor representatives, and referring physicians to form plan of care.Electrophysiology Inpatient Management:Participates in hospital rounding and completes tasks as assigned by electrophysiology physician. Prepares history and physical exams, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Assesses health status of admitted patients as directed by electrophysiology physician. Responsible for physician’s pager calls when in procedures.New Device Clinic:Independently evaluates patient progress at post-procedure follow up of newly placed pacemakers, defibrillators, and implantable cardiac monitors. Assesses post-implant wound for appropriate healing or needed intervention. Analyzes initial device interrogation and intervenes appropriately for noted clinical variations in measured parameters, significant changes in rhythm, or patient's condition. Provides patient education in device functionality, cardiac pathology, and medication management.

Provided compassionate care to critically ill patients including, but not limited to: Monitoring continuous cardiac telemetry and waveform interpretation, performing in-depth, ongoing assessments and analysis of clinical data, managing titration of continuous intravenous drips including vasopressors, anti-arrhythmics, sedatives, anticoagulants, and blood products, assisting in the placement of arterial and central venous lines, chest tubes, and endotracheal intubation and extubation, and assessing mechanical ventilation in collaboration with respiratory therapy and assisting in weaning trials.

Assisted nursing staff and provided care for patients and their families in the following settings: intermediate care, cardiopulmonary, renal, oncology, orthopedic, neurology, and medical/surgical units.
