Knowledge of hydrometeorology, hydraulics, river simulation models and streamflow analysis techniques. Strong analytical and problem solving skills including a mathematical and statistical analysis. Ability to assist with software applications including word-processing, electronic mail, internet, spreadsheet and special applications.
Assistant Water Resources Technician
Prepare for and complete monthly surface water quality sampling as part of the Provincial Water Quality Monitoring Network (PWQMN). Assist with groundwater monitoring as part of the Provincial Groundwater Monitoring Network (PGMN). Collect benthic macroinvertebrates using the Ontario Benthos Biomonitoring Network protocol. Perform baseflow measurements and stream temperature monitoring throughout the watershed region. Compile and summarize water resources data. Assess water quality parameters using standard field equipment, specifically: pH, temperature, conductivity, alkalinity and dissolved oxygen.
