Pearl Hacks is a hackathon recognized by Major League Hacking targeted specifically for woman. This resulted in an event with about 400 college girls from over 10 universities and 40 high school girls. I worked with three catering companies to provide meals for the participants, and ran day of operations that included purchasing extra food and preparing snacks.

Facilitated interaction between library patrons and the library system by assisting with search and retrieval of library materials, placing special requests, handling the online catalog, and working with the patron database to manage accounts. Brainstormed and prepared materials for library programs including children’s story time and programs for young adults. Assisted patrons and staff with technical issues and resolved them in a timely manner. Organized and maintained the library materials and streamlined the shelving system. Coordinated closing operations by securing the library and delegating tasks to others.

Created a children’s reading program at Literacy Volunteers of Pitt County that coordinated with their adult program to earn the Gold Award in 2013. Worked with the local food pantry and the host church of our meetings. Ran meetings for younger troops, including organizing a Halloween party for special needs children. Collaborated in 2010 with other troop members to create a Locks for Love drive, with over one hundred participants.
