Pursuing a masters in evolutionary plant biology. Researching the drought resilience Southern CA populations of coast live oaks on tribal lands to inform climate adaptation and restoration. Conducting greenhouse drought experiment, field work, and genomic population analysis in collaboration with tribal partners and the Climate Science Alliance.

Providing the greater San Diego area community with education, resources and technical support surrounding sustainable management of soil, water, and zero waste practices.

Serving the Community Development Agency (Sustainability Team and Housing & Federal Grants) to build capacity through Drawdown: Marin (Community based climate change mitigation/adaptation initiative) of equitable community engagement. Focusing on the implementation of a grant funded project to improve inclusivity of and representation of the voices of community members of color and low-income community members within Drawdown: Marin.

Managed and taught in 3 educational, beautiful, productive school gardens (food and landscape). Including development of ancestral food gardens to connect traditional ecological knowledge of students' cultures with nutrition and ecological lessons. Prepared, translated and taught hands-on, culturally appropriate, garden-based, NGSS curriculum standards aligned environmental science/ nutrition lessons in Spanish/English for K-6 students. Supported schools in implementing student-led: zero waste, low impact design, sustainability practices into school infrastructure (Water conservation, slope/habitat restoration, cafeteria to garden vermicompost programs and more). Coordinated interns, volunteers, teachers, students, and principals to maintain school gardens, and integrate garden-based educational activities into regular classroom activities.

Began service working with NGO (La Choza), to support community development through cooperative, community-led eco-tourism program (Cooperativa Yasi Bera) for rural community around the Esteros del Ibera (Estuaries of Ibera). Original project was terminated early because of limited access to site due to severe road flooding. Continued service term supporting NGO Ninos del Futuro in offering enriching recreational opportunities and community gardening to rural, underserved youth.

Worked with a team of 20 international volunteers from across Latin America, splitting time between rural indigenous community (BriBriPa Kaneblo) and urban butterfly garden santuary (Mariposario Spirogira). Served BriBriPa Kaneblo Indigenous Community in agroforestry, trail conservation, green entrepreneurship and env. education efforts. Assisted Mariposario Spirogira in urban environmental education, brining mobile educational demonstrations to educate children about native butterfly populations.
