About Alexandra Plummer

Hi! I am Alex. I am passionate about locally driven & co-creative processes for social change. I have experience supporting non-profit programmes with a focus on communications and research, working with community groups and organisations, globally. I hold a BA in Communications from Leeds University, UK and an MA in Peace & Conflict Resolution from Tokyo, Japan and is a Rotary Peace Fellow (Class15)Since 2020 I have worked with Dr. Pamela Richardson on her research project Make it Grow: Supporting community-based, sustainable food initiatives to build capacity and create video proposals, in order to attract start-up (including crowd-sourced) funds. I support the operations and communications of the project and continue to work on building the project's exciting second phase of becoming a social enterprise. Simultaneously, we co-founded a small women-led story harvesting collective (video-co-lab) offering bespoke participatory workshops that cultivate reflexivity and support co-creative, transformative processes for social change. I co-facilitates the participatory video workshops and provide visual recordings. I freelance as a graphic facilitator and visual scribe and am enthusiastic about finding and supporting creative ways to learn and exchange knowledge. I have scribed for workshops, events and conferences in the fields of agro-ecology, decolonisation, women's community building and peace & conflict resolution.Embodiment also plays a fundamental role in my life. I believe that a lack of mind-body connection on an individual level can hinder transformation at a larger level. As a trauma informed yoga instructor and embodiment practitioner I love to support others to adopt some of these body-centred practices into their service work.I am looking to connect with like minded individuals, organisations and purpose driven businesses and am open to discussing ways to collaborate. https://www.betterworldvisuals.com/portfolio/
