About Alexandra Puga
Hola! I am Alexandra Puga, a first-generation junior student at San Jose State University majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Chicanx Studies. My interest in marketing and related business fields emerged at the beginning of the pandemic when I started my own business. In an attempt to innovate on my family's small restaurant business, I started Alexa’s Delights, a Peruvian pastry business. As an entrepreneur, I use various marketing tactics such as being active on Instagram, and developing seasonal offers to increase sales. Ultimately, I have developed my own product and share my Peruvian Delights with my community.My experience as an entrepreneur heightened my curiosity in all areas of business. Furthering my understanding of sales and marketing, this summer, I am interning with Sumeru Equity Partners. I am working with their portfolio company, Firstup, in Customer Success. During my time working and shadowing with their senior strategy advisor, I have learned that a functional business is one that prioritizes a united team and communication, in order to ensure customer success and retention.
