In private practice, I handled complex transactions for a wide range of businesses and public organizations. I also served many clients as outside general counsel. My practice included commercial lending, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiation, business organization and reorganization, commercial real estate transactions, and investment deals. I helped clients obtain advantageous financing arrangements, assisted in legislative and lobbying efforts, and guided clients through a myriad of operational, regulatory, financial, and legal challenges. I have also advised and represented state entities, municipalities, school boards, county commissions and other public bodies with respect to public financing matters, such as revenue bonds, general obligation bonds, refunding bonds, lease purchase financings, excess levy projects and economic development transactions.In my current role, I serve as legal counsel to United Bank's Wealth & Investment Management department.Outside of work, I serve on the board of directors of Daymark, Inc., a West Virginia nonprofit organization dedicated to providing shelter and services to homeless, neglected, and at-risk youth. I am also a member of the Charleston, WV Rotary Club. I am passionate about the issues affecting our state, including the addiction crisis, as well as access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity. I live in Charleston, WV with my husband, our two-year-old daughter, and our four rambunctious rescue animals.
