I volunteered as an ODP working in the Covid-19 pandemic Nightingale Hospital - Excel Centre London.After undergoing mandatory training relating to the Covid-19 Virus, I was deployed onto the ward as part of the Emergency/Airway/Resus team.The role was undefined at the time, however the main duties included:- Attending any emergency situation within the ward- Assisting the Anaesthetist with changing E.T tubes and airway management - Attending any emergency or cardiac arrest as part of the Resus team- Ventilator and Anaesthetic Machine maintenance- Logging and changing the HME and HEPA filters for all ventilated patients- Transferring patients safely to and from CT- Transferring patients safely for Dialysis- Supporting the Anaesthetic staff and all ICU staff on the ward- Ordering appropriate stock- Accepting new admissions and discharge- Supporting patients and staff through end of life care
