Phd Student In Insa Toulouse Financed By Total (Cifre)Total Sep 2018 - Jun 2022ToulouseMechanistic models for slug flow are of significant importance when considering industrial systems. One of the key closure law for these models is the slug bubble velocity. Previous works on the subject suggest that the slug bubble celerity is highly influence by the viscosity of the fluids, surface tension, the flowing velocity, and the inclination of the pipe. My PhD thus focuses on the prediction of the slug bubble shape and the resulting velocity. Analytical, experimental and numerical investigations will be conducted in order to model correctly the shape of the gas pocket and to include it into 1D Unit Cell Models (UCM). -
