Design and manage brand development for small businesses

Working in partnership between the Smithsonian Institution (the Castle) and the Smithsonian Archives, we wanted to create an experience that connected more with local teens. I developed and led two Human-Centered Design Workshops for teens to better understand what would appeal to the age group and to give them some buy-in to developing a program for their peers.The team eventually collaborated with curators, archivists, game designers, and public relations to develop a teen-led scavenger hunt game for the Castle.I helped to design and construct puzzle elements and game materials as well as run visitor tracking and participant evaluations.

Coordinated and implemented the Junior Counselor and Counselor in Training leadership development program. Facilitated and guided teens' development of skills in camp activities, outdoor living and leadership.

Trained new employees to work the book floor and registers. Handled customer service.

Assisted customers in locating items and placing special orders. Worked cashier checkout as needed. Helped open the new Seattle's Best cafe and trained as barista; worked cafe as needed.

Planned and implemented the arts and crafts program at Girl Scout Summer Residence Camp. Ran the program for ~200 girls per week, for 8 weeks. Provided resource materials and support for the unit staff.

Managed the living units, coordinated activities, and supervised diverse unit staff. Assured girl partnership in the development of activities.
