The 3D facility (www.cfi3d.utoronto.ca) is a centre of excellence in Fundamental Biology & Health Research. We are specialized in cell-based assays, biochemical assays, cellular, tissue/organ & small animal 3D & X-Ray imaging. The 3D facility instrumentation is comprised of state-of-the-art equipment providing cutting edge data acquisition & analysis in a user-friendly environment. We provide services on these core instruments consisting of usage, training, full assistance and assay development on a very competitive cost-recovery basis.Important reminders:• All the 3D instruments are in full Biosafety level 2 rooms• The 3D Facility has no annual membership fee with only a one-time registration fee of $80 per laboratory Facility Instrument• Nikon A1R 2-photon microscope (Ultrafast Multi-color 2-photon microscope; Live cell imaging available)• Nikon Swept Field Confocal (High sensitivity, High-Speed detection & 3D fluorescence microscope; Live cell imaging available)• PerkinElmer IVIS spectrum (3D Bioluminescent & Fluorescent In vivo whole-body imager for rodents) • Bruker In-Vivo XTreme (X-Ray & bone density & peripheral fat measurements, Radio luminescent, Bioluminescent & Fluorescent In vivo whole-body imager for rodents)• Leica M205 FA Fully Automated Stereo Microscope (state of the art motorized stage and focus, extra-long working distance objectives and complete digital acquisition & analysis with Leica computer workstation)• Meso Scale Discovery Sector 2400A (Very sensitive multiplex reader with wide dynamic range)• BMG PHERAstar FS (Versatile, FRET compliant, multimodal plate reader with onboard reagents dispensers) • Applied Biosystems ViiA 7 rtPCR System Supporting equipments for:• Cell culture: Thermo Scientific CO2 cell culture incubators (HERAcell 150i), Labconco biosafety cabinets (class II type A2), thermo regulated shaking baths, New Brunswick I26 shakers• Centrifugation: medium, low speed centrifuges & 1 Beckman XPN 80 ultracentrifuge• Cold storage: 4°C fridges and -20°C freezers• Assay reading: 1 Bio-Rad xMark plate reader & 1 Beckman Coulter DU730 UV/Vis spectrophotometer
