Created cross-platform mobile and web solution for GiftToPhone.com, utilizing HTML5, jQuery, PhoneGap, iPhone SDK, Android SDK. The solution leveraged HTML5 for presentation and Javascript for application logic, thus enabling 95% of the code to be shared between iPhone and Android. REST XML services were created on the server-side to expose all Gift exchange functionality, with various viral mechanisms implemented, including Facebook Connect, Twitter, SMS, MMS.

Defined VISA's SOA strategy and standards. Specifically worked with ~ 20 internal development teams to reach consensus on how web services should be built and secured. Leveraged Datapower to expose web services for credit card dispute resolution to partner banks.

Designed and implemented Web Service oriented architecture for company's Network Director 2.0 product. The architecture implements WS-Policy, WS-Security, and WS-Routing standards and a distributed, scalable, fault-tolerant, low-overhead routing approach to enable access control, authentication, encryption, monitoring, logging, notifications, load-balancing, fail-over, and performance-metrics for WSDL, SOAP Web Services. Took "hands-on" approach in porting Network Director from 200,000 line, pattern-oriented Java application to a 20,000 line, service-oriented Java application, leveraging open-source toolkits (Castor, JDO, LDAP, Thinlet, JFreeChart, Apache Axis, Xerces, Jakarta Commons), adopting Web Services.

Wrote company's flagship product, VelociGen (C++, Threads, Sockets). VelociGen is a high performance application server which allows developers to rapidly create web applications for processing dynamic content from SQL databases, forms, XML, etc. using a mix of high-level XML, XSL and scripting (Perl, TCL). Ported VelociGen to UNIX, Windows, Netscape NSAPI, Microsoft ISAPI, Apache API, and FastCGI. Designed and implemented a Web Service oriented architecture using Java, XML, C++, Perl, TCL/TK to create company's award winning VelociGenX product, a platform for developing Web Services on top of existing data and applications (ORACLE, DB2, MSSQL, SYBASE, LDAP, MySQL, Postgres, flat file, MQSeries, TIBCO, in-house Java, C++) without custom coding. The software included a "visio-like" service flow creation environment and XPATH transformation engine to wrap, link, and run legacy applications, exposing their interfaces as WSDL with SOAP over HTTP bindings.

Creating high performance bridge between Informix and CGI-C based application. Developed algorithm for generating crossword puzzles from questions and answers derived from various topics in the propaedia. Ported online encyclopaedia from flat files to Informix database.

Created image processing filters for Animo 2D image processing system in C++. Used C++ and Perl scripting to import 3D models from various SGI packages: Alias, Prisms, SoftImage into 2D animation system. Used TCL/TK and C++ to develop a real-time, interactive animation playback system for SGI High Impact. The playback system is used by film directors to critique animated scenes on a daily basis. Created a distributed queueing system using Perl and TCL/TK to render animation frames over ATM and fast Ethernet network. Render jobs were distributed across multiple SGI and NextStep machines.

Developed a 3D graphics engine for scientific visualization of protein structure and density for X-ray crystallography: XtalView. Created ribbons geometry for visualization of protein structures. Work received cover Scientific America, December 1992.

Designed and implemented in C a distributed database for tracking patient billing information across a network of hospital drug vending machines. Implemented a secure, fault-tolerant communication protocol in C and 80x86 assembly for various PC and hospital mainframe connections.
