Alex is passionate about cultivating community, inclusion, and leadership in all settings - particularly within the education community. Alex’s background consists of engaging professional learning and leadership trainings, mentoring, public speaking, marketing, and event execution. Her areas of interest include facilitation, leadership development, and community involvement. Alex has helped with the design, launch, and facilitation of Positive Behavior Support and Leader In Me within schools. Her focus is on encouraging, collaborating, and empowering members of the school community. Prior to joining Compass Charter Schools as the Community Director, Alex served as a primary teacher. There she focused on how to increase school involved within the community. Now as Community Director, her focus is on Leader in Me within Compass Charter Schools, and the advertisement and marketing of Compass Charter Schools. Alex graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Family, Youth, & Community Sciences from the University of Florida. She earned a Graduate Certificate in Positive Behavior Support from the University of South Florida. During her time at the University of Florida, she was a First Opportunity Scholar recipient. Alex is an advocate for self-advocacy and living locally. She dedicates her time to supporting the Plant City community and volunteers in a variety of capacities. Alex enjoys traveling, blogging, and attending local events.
