I am a perpetual student with international and cross-cultural experiences in multiple fields and with a few years' experience in customer-facing and back office roles across industries. The bulk of my early professional experience has been in the area of Procurement, with an emphasis on Accounts Payable/Payment Operations, from both a technical and a business process perspective. I have thoroughly enjoyed applying the financial and business acumen gained through my coursework towards innovative solutions which ensured the seamless flow of the procure-to-pay processes. Almost two years ago, I have transitioned to a more data-centric role with a tech aspect in order to continue nurturing my interests in data manipulation, transformation and analysis, as well as to be able to satisfy my curiosity for the world of automation. It has definitely been (and still is!) a challenge to be a business analyst in a highly dynamic organization where decision making is data-driven. However, it accelerated my growth both in terms of technical skills and soft skills. Even more so, and perhaps most importantly, it has solidified my interest in data science.The current challenges on my list are: to fully master the power side of Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot, and DAX), to continue taming the Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), and to rediscover scripting (SQL, Python, maybe APEX) and advanced statistics.
