About Alexa Smittle

I was so lucky to discover urban economics and planning in college, and have spent most of my career expanding upon that foundation – I still love it! For many years I was part of an amazing firm, helping communities around the state leverage resources in a budget crises, revive dilapidated neighborhoods, champion policies that fit modern government, and inspire their residents to see a brighter future.I had the opportunity to join public service staff in 2017 at the City of Westminster, CA, a wonderful community I was privileged to serve. Now at the City of Seal Beach, a different set of joys and challenges drive me to be better every day. I am a data nerd, excel devotee, I love to write, and have a natural gift for taking in a lot of information and finding a path forward. Conundrum? Does it involve a local government or agency? I’m on board.My family keeps me active outside of work. I’m regularly occupied pampering dogs, scrubbing artwork off furniture, and pretending I’m not scared of the teenage years. Occasionally I even help my chef husband with a catering event; his food is worth showing up for in any capacity.
