Born and raised in the country town of Kingston on the coast of South Australia, I grew up helping in the family kitchen cabinetry business before moving to Adelaide after school. I was attracted to Industrial Design due to its balance of both practical and creative skills, and my intuitive nature encouraged a open mindedness to asking complex design questions and considering the untapped potential around us.In the course of my duties i have explored a variety of projects involving detailed design using glass reinforced concrete (GRC), metal and timber fabrication for use in a range of contexts including art galleries, major architectural projects, mining, wind farms and and public spaces. I have used Solidworks for creation of virtual parts and assemblies with extrusions, sheetmetal, and weldments. Concept drawings for tender and the translation of 3D models into 2D construction and assembly drawings to clearly communicate fabrication processes. Setup of Solidworks vault and some interaction with Finite Element Analysis. Secondary use of Rhino and AutoCAD. Interaction with management, project managers, engineers and fabricators to achieve intended outcomes as well as design refinement to increase efficiency in production and installation. Communication with clients and suppliers to ensure a high level of quality and satisfaction.
