Academy Manager
CurrentAfter completing all seven levels throughout their Academy, I became a freelance writer for GiveMeSport, covering Serie A and WWE.Several months on from that, I was offered a sub-editors role full-time with the company where I helped Academy writers and freelance writers get their work published onto the GiveMeSport website.As of late 2016, I took full control of the GiveMeSport Academy, helping contributors and members progress their journalism careers. As Academy Manager, my main responsibilities are:- Manage all our Academy members and ensure their work is at a high enough standard to go live onto our website- Maintain strong relationships with our Academy members so that they feel motivated and inspired to contribute to the website- Provide instant and helpful feedback on articles that are submitted from the Academy to ensure they know how and where to improve their writing- Manage and oversee all GiveMeSport's non-football coverage. Ranging from UFC, Boxing, F1, WWE, Golf, Cricket, Tennis, Rugby & more recently, Gaming- Help produce & edit content that is engaging for our audience across all social media platforms and Google- Help produce & edit SEO-driven articles that have the best chance of performing on Google and other search engines- Cover breaking news across a wide range of sports. Mainly UFC & boxing fight reports or F1 race reports- Manage and oversee all our social pages on Facebook and Twitter. This includes posting articles on a regular basis to our official page that has 26 million likes and also our individual sport-related pages- Manage and analyse application forms for budding and aspiring journalists that want to join the Academy- Use analytical websites such as Chartbeat and Parsely to identify what performs well for us as a website
