Responsible for building and executing Xero’s business media plan and storylines, I drove corporate and financial news with top-tier press across Xero’s key markets. Developing media and story strategy, I took a global, cross-organizational view to help successfully drive the business and its corporate media relations forward.I worked with the Xero executive team to ensure company stories were coherently communicated in an engaging manner, helping to build Xero’s reputation in key investor markets and publications. This included developing messaging and key assets which met the global business requirements for public earnings reports and other market-related news and events.

The lure of telling stories from within the walls of Xero was an opportunity I couldn't refuse. I was charged with running our executive byline program, determining what our story matrix involved and how it evolved. I helped our executive team, right around the world, communicate their vision. I especially loved distilling complex ideas into relatable storylines that resonated with the desired audience. Our leaders became regular contributors to Inc, Fortune, Techcrunch, The Australian, Business Insider and more. I also ran PR and communications in the US market. It took hustle and the ability to ship quality stories, ideas and content at pace.

In just under two years Business Insider grew to be one of the most read business sites in Australia. As technology editor, I reported on important themes for Australia’s growing tech sector, an increasingly important component of the national economy, especially as the transition away from a mining-led economy continued.
