The Virginia Wireless Association (VAWA) is a nonprofit professional association that was formed in 2008 to develop an official forum for the wireless industry and wireless telecommunication professionals in Virginia. Membership in the VAWA is free.

Projects include small cell deployment including zoning and site acquisition work for major wireless carrier within the BAWA market. Scope of work included identifying public infrastructure and private buildings to install antenna and equipment, initiating discussions with county planning, zoning and franchise personnel.

Various responsibilities included but were not limited to the following: site candidate identification and the completion of a SCIP, coordinate with RF Engineers, Construction Managers and design engineer to schedule a site meeting and ensure the candidate met engineering, construction and zoning requirements. Upon site candidate approval request a Title Report, execute MOA’s, procure zoning maps, parcel maps and deeds in order to process zoning, SHPO, Tower Committee and other regulatory or land use documents. Assist zoning attorney with PowerPoint presentations and attend community, HOA or local Planning Commission meetings. Upon zoning and Landlord approval, prepare and submit documents in order to secure Building Permit.Clients included Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile, American Tower, Crown Castle and SBA Communications. Territory included all jurisdictions between Loudoun County, VA and Baltimore County, MD. Completed zoning, site acquisition or building permit filings in VA (Leesburg/Fairfax/Prince William/Alexandria/Arlington) and MD (Prince George’s/Montgomery/Charles/Baltimore). The District of Columbia included.
