I always thought I would end up in the healthcare industry because I seemed to have an aptitude for biology and chemistry in high school. First-year bio ruined that sentiment, as I came to the realization that I simply did not have the same passion and drive for science that many other first-year students seemed to have. After taking a few analytics-based courses, I soon found my true calling in the realm of finance and statistics and quickly made the switch to a Finance degree. To those around me, I’ve always been known as being very analytical and good with numbers. I enjoy evaluating statistics and complex data to solve problems and support business success. My past work experience has further honed these skills as I have collaborated on developing business plans, creating financial models, and building monthly reports on efficiencies within a company.Despite this, I would say my strongest skillset is actually my communicative and sociable nature; building meaningful connections is at the core of who I am, and I thrive within a collaborative environment. Interacting with others is something I quite enjoy and has factored into my decision to pursue a career in finance, where being able to quickly build rapport and trust is a valuable asset.
