Project Manager / Engineer
While at THP, I functioned as the project manager on multiple restoration projects. These projects often involved performing a review of the structure and writing a technical report, including developing a multi-year master plan with budgets ($50k-$20+MM), for the owner; developing design documents for bidding (projects valued at $30k-$3MM); creating specifications for bidding, including applicable AIA documents, front end, and technical specifications; conducting the full bidding process, including contacting contractors, running pre-bid and post-bid meetings, and verifying the bids were complete and accurate; working with the selected contractor to alleviate issues that develop during construction and developing field changes; performing the full closeout process including reviewing contractor as-built documents and submittal information, working with technical staff to develop record drawings for the owner, and reviewing final pay applications. In addition to my project management experience, I worked on all aspects of design for a new construction project: working through preliminary structural system studies/schematics, modeling structures to complete a 3D analysis, completing hand calculations, coordinating with the architect and other design partners, writing specifications for the applicable scope, modifying the design and releasing bulletins and addenda, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, performing site visits and writing field reports, and working with the contractor to develop field changes as required based on field conditions. I also completed site investigations and reviews, during which I worked with contractors, other project managers, trades workers, and owners. New construction projects that I worked on ranged in value between $40MM and $200MM.
