I serve as an EMT and FireFighter/Rescuer on the Heavy Rescue Squad. Rescue Squads specialize in auto extrication, search and rescue, rope rescue and other technical rescue skills. Continuous classroom time and at-the-firehouse training are required to receive and maintain these qualifications.I'm a member of the Fire/Rescue Operations Group in the Training Section and help develop training courses, lectures, and full-scale scenarios. In addition, I am also an EMT preceptor, Emergency Driver trainer, and a member of the Drivers Committee.
