After working in several sweatshops in Brooklyn: VIP Medical Billing (Ave U), AllergyBeGone.com (warehouse in Sunset Park) and others, I’ve learnt the “heavy” life from the inside, not from textbooks. Every day was a struggle to make the ends meet. Frequently had to decide whether I should buy food or books. I always chose the latter. I didn’t have a TV for 3 years.I’ve started my own business as a way to escape from the “ghetto” life I’ve been put in: dilapidated apartment building, noisy and polluted streets, unfriendly and often drunk neighbors, and a constant scream of fire truck sirens in the middle of the night.As a language professional that I’ve become after finishing CUNY college, I have built “LeoSam Translations” which later morphed into “Translation Services USA” and now it is “Translation Cloud” and back into: “Translation Services USA”. The start-up has been mentioned by leading publications such as Forbes, Fortune and Wall Street Journal. I’ve been a guess speaker of many TV shows and gave countless interviews.
