I am a synthetic organic chemist passionate about converting ideas and hypotheses into molecules and methods. I did my PhD at ICIQ where I have been able to develop my skills in organic synthesis and create new methodologies using homogeneous catalysis and photoredox. In collaboration with other splendid lab mates, my research efforts have translated so far into (co)-authoring 13 scientific publications, one of which was highlighted in several newspaper and radio programmes around the globe. In addition, my doctoral thesis has been recognised by the Royal Academy of Doctors of Spain (RADE) for being among the best in Science and Technology for the year 2021-22. Currently, I am a senior scientist at Cortex Organics where I am responsible for the synthesis of complex organic molecules for various clients.I share the same view as a quote from Roy T. Bennett, author of the book The Light in the Heart: “Do not fear failure but rather fear not trying”. I try to apply this philosophy to my daily research and try to rationalize the outcome of every experiment, especially when an unexpected result arises. Beyond that, I am always open to discuss others’ research problems in the lab and, outside of the lab, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and practicing sports. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing new perspectives, so feel free to contact me if you would like to connect.
