I curate and shape editorial strategy for Mozilla content recommendations across Firefox New Tab and the Pocket read-it-later app. I also manage the Pocket newsletter, which goes to 3 million subscribers daily. I work closely with developers to build internal tools for curating high-quality content, including a machine learning-generated recommendations system for New Tab. I have also helped build new user-facing content experiences, such as Pocket Collections, curated reading lists that showcasing human-powered curation, and Pocket's annual "Best Of", showcasing the finest writing on the web.

I helped lead the magazine's news and politics coverage, working with other editors to identify the most important stories of the week, making sure to include a diverse range of perspectives. I wrote balanced synopses of news, analysis and commentary for the front-of-book in The Week’s unique voice. In 2018, I was named Employee of the Year for all of Dennis Publishing in the U.S., which publishes The Week magazine. I also helped Dennis U.S. draft its first internal company culture statement as part of the office culture committee.

Blumsday was a scrappy remote team of writers, editors and fact-checkers specializing in business and technology content. We wrote reviews and features for publications like Entrepreneur magazine, TheStreet.com and Crain's New York Business. We also wrote in-depth white papers for corporate clients. I helped write and edit several major case studies about secure software development for Microsoft with Blumsday. We used all of the products we tested for our day-to-day work. If we were writing about project management software or a cloud-based accounting program, we'd actually use it for the business for a period of time. I learned a lot about the ins and outs of collaborating online this way.

I covered the consumer and retail beat in Tucson until my position was eliminated during a round of layoffs. I helped provide coverage on several major stories, including forest fires in southern Arizona and the mass shooting targeting U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords on Jan. 8, 2011.

I covered competitive state and congressional primaries and general assignment news in the small communities of Green Valley and Sahuarita south of Tucson. I toured the U.S. Border Patrol training facility in Artesia, N.M. for a special report that ran in multiple Wick Communications newspapers.
