I brought my desire to create aesthetic and intuitive human centered user experiences to the small development team at Pepperlane. As a member of the Internal Forecasting Tools digital team I was stretched to meet the requirements of the role. The tech stack had been changed, the application rewritten, and new developers were being onboarded to complete the large amount of fresh work. As a senior developer, I took ownership of data visualization, and managed new developers. I had general knowledge of the entire application and continued to research new technologies and development strategies when needed. I collaborated with business analysts to refine features and create well designed user experiences, as well as triaging work by difficulty and feature effectiveness to determine pecking order.- Researched strategies for creating secure API key system for a novel application.- Created new CSS paradigms in support of data visualization features.- Tended to user story backlog by refining requirements, determining urgency, and evaluating difficulty.- Acted as liaison for new developers, completed knowledge transfer of various application pieces as they were transferred to new teams.- Active participant in scrum ceremonies, making expertise available to team members.

Technology Analyst

I was involved in project management on a merger integration as Shire acquired Baxalta, two pharmaceutical companies focusing on rare disease. As part of my role I was involved in weekly task tracking, something I noticed was taking much longer to complete than was necessary. Tracking was being done by hand via excel, and I saw that it could easily be automated. To this end, I learned VBA, and wrote scripts that cut the time it took to complete tracking from 2 days to 5 minutes.- Conducted complete digital transformation in task tracking.- Completed product research to determine best practices and technologies.I transitioned to software development, and was part of the digital team developing, from the ground up, a modernized critical global system for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The new system would regularly execute multi-billion dollar transactions, and was highly visible. Though I had experience in front end development, I had to expand immensely to fulfill the duties of the role. By the time the contract ended, I had become a point of contact for new developers, and was regularly debugging across the entire application. I was constantly in conversations with back end developers to design services that would outlive my time, as well as with business analysts to refine the effectiveness of proposed features.- Designed application and product features to create a functional and pleasant developer and user experience.- Completed in depth learning of new technologies, including Angular 4.x with typescript, Jasmine, and reactive programming.- Became a mentor for new developers, and was a point of contact for guidance on how to complete a feature, or learn about a new system.
