In the months following the strategic shift at GE Capital, Dimitrief helped to lead GE Capital’s reorganization and agreements to sell over $120 billion in assets and oversaw GE’s successful petition to decertify GE Capital as a non-bank Systemically Important Financial Institution (SIFI), the first such decertification granted by the Financial Stability Oversight Council. Dimitrief also served as the Executive Champion for GE Capital's People with Disabilities Network, which aspires to foster an inclusive environment in which people with disabilities can shine in ways that are uniquely possible at a company like GE; to educate and empower the GE Capital community to embrace a culture in which people with disabilities, their families and allies can connect and thrive; and to help establish GE Capital as an employer of choice for people with disabilities.

Dimitrief oversaw the Legal and Compliance functions for GE Energy's worldwide portfolio, including GE's Power & Water, Oil & Gas and Energy Management businesses, which then employed more than 100,000 people in 165+ countries and produced products ranging from gas turbines, compressors and pipeline and drilling solutions to energy data management, digital energy, power conversion and flow technologies.

Dimitrief was responsible for litigation and enforcement proceedings in the United States and international jurisdictions against GE and its business segments, including a slew of SEC investigations and shareholder lawsuits following the financial crisis. He also oversaw GE’s worldwide compliance program and served on GE's Corporate Executive Council and Policy Compliance Review Board.
