My role here was to develop a module teaching storytelling techniques to the 'motion creative' course. I then presented and mentored students both on site in Stockholm/Karlskrona and virtually.They do things very differently at Hyper Island and I learnt a lot about alternative approaches to education with an emphasis on team dynamics, leadership skills and setting your own metrics for success. My responsibilities were:- Design and lead a 3 week module- Oversee group dynamics- Presentation delivery skills- Feedback and critique sessions- Mentoring and supportHyper Island measured the results with a 95% satisfaction rating.

During my time as a freelance consultant I had lots of interesting opportunities across a variety of creative projects at some great brands and agencies. It allowed me to hone my skills and choose a direction that i could specialise in. Part of the initial team that transformed RWD from a niche magazine into the UK’s largest urban music website. My role was to create and launch RWDmag.com / RWDforum - one of the first websites to translate 'Grime' and UK underground music culture onto a digital platform. At the time, RWD was a prominent purveyor of the early stages of UK music movements such as the grime, dubstep, drum & bass and uk garage scenes. It was credited as playing a key role in the media and chart success of UK urban music from 2001 onwards.Being part of a small start-up that wasn't digitally focused taught me a lot about being resourceful and finding ways to teach myself skills that i needed on the fly. A valuable lesson that i've taken forward. My role included: • Translating the culture of underground music onto a digital platform and online community• Ideation and execution of successful campaigns for global brands to align them with music and youth culture.• SEO strategy to generate traffic in excess of 1 million UU per month• Online community development resulting in 50k+ active users• UI and UX Design• Information architecture• Innovative viral campaigns both internal and for clients. • Art direction for clients such as Universal Music, Rockstar Games and Sony PlayStation.Results: • Built the site from 20K UU's to over 850 UU's per month in the space of 10 months• Development of a TV series that was signed to a European TV network 'Channel U'• RWDmag.com was Winner of 'Sidewinder Peoples Choice Music Awards', 2003• Princes Trust London Business of the Year' 2004• 'Ernst+Young' Future 100 Awards'. • Met HRH Prince Charles
