Responsible for the development and scaleup of new process technology and materials. Heavy focus on battery recycling, active materials, battery metals refining, and lithium. Oversight of R&D facilities, labs, pilot plants, and production lines.

Battery Metals and Materials.Manage cross-functional engineering team and Tesla development site. Focus on scale-up and commercialization of new technologies. Oversight of budget, R&D facilities (labs and pilot), process equipment, and greenfield projects.

Built a process development team from the ground-up. This entailed hiring, budget oversight, design, construction, and commissioning of a laboratory facility. Focus on pCAM and battery materials.

Responsible for the development of polymers, elastomers and lubricants. Projects encompassed conventional petrochemical materials (PE, PP, EPDM and mPAO) along with advanced engineering materials. Examples include: energy dense fuels for hypersonics/aerospace, reversible polymerization systems (i.e., polycyclobutanes), and novel elastomers. Additional activities included process optimization for linear alpha olefins (SHOP process); hydroformylation (Oxo) and acid catalyzed propylene oligomerization.Projects spanned early-stage development through world-scale plant optimization.

Developed technologies for engineering thermoplastics including polyketones and polycarbonates using nickel and palladium catalyst systems. Contributed to the development of next-generation metallocenes, post-metallocenes, and supported-catalysts.Developed new catalyst systems for cobalt-based hydroformylation and surfactant production.

Catalyst and polymeric material development. Focus was on single-site catalyst technology (i.e., metallocene, post-metallocene) for the production of polyethylene, polypropylene and related materials. Other major projects included discrete catalyst activators and lanthanide polymerization systems (i.e., scandium, neodymium) for elastomers.
