Ongoing advisory role & short-term consultancy capacity with UN-Habitat's Pacific Climate Change and Slum Upgrading Programme, through the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP), Fukuoka, Japan. Contributions focused on the intersection of urban climate resilience and informal settlements in Melanesia, particularly in relation to adaptation planning in the cities of Honiara and Port Vila.

Part-time, Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute- Strategic planning for cross-faculty and external engagement on urban futures research- UN-Habitat UNI Partnership Focal Point- Management of events, research development and communications

Thesis to focus on the emerging theory and policy associated with urban climate resilience, examining how it is interacting with peri-urban, informal and migratory communities in some of the Pacific's least developed cities in post-disaster contexts.Based at the Australian-German Climate and Energy College, candidature through the Melbourne School of Design. Primary Supervisor: Prof Brendan Gleeson (Director, Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute).

- Project work and staff supervision analysing global frameworks and metrics for measuring and assessing urban resilience, as well as an historical analysis of its theoretical origins. - Development of project proposals for sustainability partnership opportunities within Melbourne, exploring the shared use, and associated potential cost and benefit transfers, across public and private realms.- Publication development, public presentations and advocacy.

Short-term collaborative position at the United Nations University in Bonn, Germany, building on research into climate vulnerability and resilience in Pacific Small Island Developing States.

Part-time, Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute.Assistance in the co-ordination of a cross-faculty delegation to Habitat III in Quito, Ecuador. Background research, communications and external collaboration with Australian and regional representatives.

Projects:- UN Habitat Cities and Climate Change Initiative: Planning for Climate Change Phase 2, Port Vila & Honiara. Lead consultant developing Climate Adaptation Plans for both municipal governments. Project management, in-country consultation, GIS-based mapping & spatial analysis, report writing and stakeholder engagement.- Urban Resilience Assessment Mechanisms. Internal university-wide strategic initiative. Research lead & project manager. Workshop facilitation, line management and theoretical review. - Natural Disaster Risk Assessment for Tasmania. Joint project in partnership with UTAS and ACE CRC for the Tasmanian Dept. of Police and Emergency Management reviewing the 2012 State Risk Assessment and updating it in line with new national guidelines.- UN Habitat Global Land Tool Network Regional Land Tenure Project - Asia-Pacific. Development of a regional road map for enhancing regional and multi-lateral collaboration on improving land policy and regulatory reform, capacity development and improved land tenure coordination.(Part-time from March - December 2016)

Key Projects:- UN-HABITAT Climate Change Cities Initiative Vulnerability Assessment toolkit development - rapid training in the CCCI VA approach, development feedback and application in Cagayan De Oro, The Philippines. Application in CDO included desktop research, fieldwork and workshop development and facilitation.- Online Decision-Support Tool for Australian Seaports: Development of an online interface to filter, synthesise and localise climate and non-climate data for adaptation planning by Australian Seaports. Datasets sourced from CSIRO, BoM, ABS and BITRE, with the user workflow designed to be mainstreamable into existing port decision-making approaches such as ISO 31000:2009 (International Risk Assessment Standard). - RMIT Climate Change Risk Assessment: Research project assessing climate change vulnerability through integration with the university's existing risk management framework, through a 'hotspots' approach for both the Melbourne CBD Campus and Saigon-South (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam).- Reducing UHIE through Green Infrastructure: Policy and institutional assessment for the Melbourne area in partnership with Monash and Melbourne Universities. Assessment to build into an implementation guide and decision-making framework for local applications.- Assessment of Climate Change Risks and Adaptation Options for Secondary Cities in Southwestern Bangladesh and Central Vietnam: Development and implementation of a community-based climate risk assessment toolkit, applied by local stakeholders in Satkhira, Bangladesh and Huế, Vietnam.

Key Projects:- ACT State of the Environment Report (2011) : Quantitative assessment, writing, research, editing and independent assessment for the climate theme/indicators and the transport indicator for the 2007-2011 report. - Buying Choices Research Project: LCA for a number of household items, as purchased in the ACT, through secondary data analysis. Research conducted in assistance and partnership to Dr Sarah Ryan.- Regional State of the Environment Report for the ACR - Feasibility Analysis: Assessment of legislative changes for regional state of environment reporting in NSW, and the consequences for the existing reporting arrangements between the ACT OCSE and the surrounding NSW LGAs.

Research thesis titled 'Travel From The Household: An Interactive Approach to Sustainable Transport Policy and Theory'. Self-directed research, including development and application of a whole-of-household methodology for assessing inter-household dependancies in relation to mode-choice, through an integrated travel log, semi-structured group interview approach.Thesis received the highest mark for 2010 in the ANU College of Medicine Biology and the Environment. Prizes recieved included the Indian Australian Association of Australia Prize, and the Charles D. Jubb Environmental Research Prize.

Development of a green events accreditation system, including research-based points weighting, excel formatting and coding. User interface designed to allow for scalable points assessment depending on event size, ranging from onsite, hour long meetings to multi-day international conferences.
