Software Development Engineer
Tech Lead
Software Engineer / Java Developer At R&D Department
Worked in the R&D department, SDN Controller team.Major responsibility area: research and implement efficient data processing algorithms, data structures and performance optimizations for Controller's core features that work under constant high load.Another responsibility related to business-logic: improve existing and develop new "primitive network services" such as P2P, P2M, M2M, L3VPN and others, according to specs provided by Network Architects.
Java Developer
• Participated in couple of major releases for russian money transfer company's call center software system. Worked on both server- and client sides (GWT) in a team of 3 developers, testers and analysts. Together we implemented a lot of new functionality, improved integration with calling software and task-tracker (JIRA via its REST API), introduced new tasks workflow and reporting.• Participated in server-side development process for “Promedicus” company (promed.com.au) and their product “Visage RIS” (Radiology Information System). Azoft provided Promedicus with a dedicated team of developers that collaborated with other teams located in Australia and Europe. Hospital information systems meet highest industry standards of enterprise code quality, stability and security. Promedicus has very strict requirements for all the above: all new code goes through several phases of code review, testing and approval. As a part of the team, I delivered a lot of system improvements, new features and bugfixes, that are now in production.
Junior Java Developer
• Participated in a major release of Norwegian start-up project “UrbanKandi” (urbankandi.me). Worked in a team with more experienced developer, added several new features to project's server-side and administration web panel.• Developed the server-side part for a new project from scratch (an application for russian money transfer company that helped users find offices nearby, check their transfers' statuses, calculate fees, etc). Worked in a team with two mobile developers (iOS and Android). Together we developed the REST API for communications between server and mobile clients. Application architecture was planned according to the best industry practices and allowed our customer to easily extend functionality in future.• Participated in Azoft's internal project “HopHop” (hophop.mobi), a social network helping people to organize events like parties, meetings and so on. Implemented internal services for importing information about events from different providers (like SeatGeek, Evently) via their REST APIs. Regularly imported events enabled users to subscribe on events by area or venue, receive notifications and share/discuss events with friends. This new key feature “animated” HopHop and quickly filled it with thousands of interesting events for users all around the world.
Php Developer
• Worked as a dedicated developer for “Amicus VMS” (Vehicle Management System, http://amicusvms.com). Implemented variety of new features during several major releases, significantly extended system functionality and improved stability, optimized some of the existing reports and added several completely new types of reports. Was in direct contact with the customer in order to better understand the needs of the business, make research and provide the customer with options, mock-ups and solutions that improved business processes and guaranteed the best outcome.• Helped Azoft's Marketing department by automating some of their routine business-processes. For instance, marketing staff had to use web search all the time looking for companies that could be Azoft's potential clients, then filter them by different criteria and prepare lists for Sales department for “cold calling”. Automation included creating of several web-crawlers that could use Google and Yahoo web search APIs, visit companies' web-pages, collect info about them + some interesting metrics (like page ranks) and store everything to a database. Having millions of companies in the local DB, it was easy to prepare any kind of lists or analytics by location, speciality, company size, etc. Using all this drastically increased the number of potential clients, Azoft had to hire more sales and ~doubled the size of Sales department. Later Azoft hired more developers for the new wave of incoming projects and opened a new office in Tomsk. Azoft grew a lot in 2012-2013 and partially this happened because of my proactivity, willingness to optimize company's business processes and productive collaboration with the Marketing department.
