As the technical lead for the communications team, I managed the chat and notification systems, and also helped establish and run weekly cross-functional meetings to discuss common backend pain points and company-wide initiatives.

In 2016, I took some time to do something that I had always wanted to do: develop my own Android application. The application allowed users to create time-based workouts and pair them with a Spotify playlist in order to play songs for each exercise's duration.- Designed, wrote, and released a fitness app, Tabatafy, through Google Play- Utilized AWS Cognito & AWS Lambda to enable calls to Spotify’s web api from a mobile device- Set up a website to host in-app ads that could be updated independently of app software- Used the following Android libraries to facilitate development: AWS Mobile, Retrofit, OkHttp, Dagger, Butterknife, Glide, Spotify sdk, JUnit, Robolectric, Mockito

I contributed to native Android & iOS apps as well as backend services and infrastructure software aimed at bringing consistent, restaurant-quality results to home cooks of all levels. We interfaced with our own BLE-enabled product as well as third party wifi-enabled cooktops.

At Amazon, I worked in the digital products organization, developing mobile applications and services for the Kindle Fire, Fire Phone, and Fire TV. Specifically, I worked on the Contacts, Calculator, Clock, Notes, and Weather apps, as well as on custom sharing experiences from the Kindle Reader app to Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads.- Delivered cross-team social sharing experiences on multiple Fire OS devices- Co-designed syncing of weather locations across users' various Fire OS devices utilizing AWS Cognito- Acted as scrum master for 7 months -- led sprint planning and daily scrum, and introduced sprint demos and retrospectives- Worked with product managers and UX designers to port and re-skin AOSP apps to fit Fire OS- Maintained existing service to sync Amazon contacts across Fire OS devices- Aggregated service alarm logic, resulting in an 87% reduction in total alarms- Set up automated responses to customer-facing issues sent by customer service reps to facilitate faster resolutions

As an intern at Amazon, I updated and improved accessibility tools used to test various parts of the Amazon retail website.- Upgraded Amazon's version of the open source accessibility tool AChecker to a newer version- Wrote code to crawl the Amazon website, run pages through AChecker, and auto-cut messages to specific teams if their pages or plugins were not accessible enough- Generated aggregate accessibility reports to more clearly understand issues- Fixed bugs and committed some back to the open source project
